CINCINNATI, Ohio- The West Clermont Wolves will travel to Anderson High School to take on the Anderson Redskins on Friday, September 18th, at 7 p.m. West Clermont is 1-2 and is coming off of a 28-13 loss to Winton Woods. Anderson is 2-1 and is coming off of a 38-20 win against Lebanon.

 

     Who to watch for on Anderson: Jackson Kuhn comes in as the ECC leader in passing yards with 1,191. Kuhn has 9 passing touchdowns and 4 rushing touchdowns on the season so far. Anderson also has the top three ECC leaders in receiving yards. Jerrick McClanahan has 351 yards and 3 touchdowns. Joey Faulkner has 325 yards and 3 touchdowns. Evan Upchurch has 299 yards and 2 touchdowns. At running back, Andrew Williams has 37 carries for 249 yards and 4 touchdowns. Williams also has a receiving touchdown and 148 receiving yards. Billy Knott has 3 interceptions for Anderson.

 

     Who to watch for on West Clermont: West Clermont is led by their balanced rushing attack. Preston Hannika has 35 carries for 133 yards and two touchdowns for the Wolves this season. Hannika also has a receiving touchdown. Austin Fultz has 160 yards and a touchdown on 39 carries. Josh Hogan has 29 carries for 150 yards. Marcus Johnson has 84 yards and a touchdown on 8 carries. Gage Bullock has 51 yards on 11 carries. At quarterback, Peyton Bryant has 102 passing yards and a passing touchdown. Mateo Coldiron has a fumble recovery, Howard Bingham has 1 sack, and Caleb Stepp has an interception for the Wolves.

 

     The Key for West Clermont: West Clermont will want to get their run game going early. They have run the ball 141 times so far this season. Anderson’s biggest struggle has been stopping the run. The Redskins have given up 858 rushing yards through 3 games. The Wolves will need to control the clock and play stellar defense to keep this a low-scoring game. West Clermont has had a higher time of possession than every opponent they have played this season. The Wolves have only allowed 491 passing yards and will need to shut down the passing attack of Anderson. West Clermont has also defended the run pretty well, only allowing 297 yards of rushing.

 

     The Key for Anderson: Anderson will need to find the holes in this West Clermont defense early. The Redskins average over 40 points per game. The Wolves haven’t allowed any more than 28 points in a game this season. The Redskins will need to score early and often to put pressure on the West Clermont offense. West Clermont has scored 13 points in each game this season and could be overwhelmed if Anderson keeps up with their high-scoring trend. The Redskins have elapsed 500 yards of total offense in every game this season.

 

     Common Opponents: West Clermont lost in their season opener to Lebanon by a score of 21-13. Anderson defeated Lebanon in week 3 by a score of 38-20.

     Recent History: Anderson is 3-0 all-time against West Clermont. The Redskins won last year’s matchup with the Wolves by a score of 34-23. Every game has been somewhat competitive. Anderson beat West Clermont 42-34 in 2017 and 42-28 in 2018. Anderson, Milford, and West Clermont all had a 3-way tie for the winners of the ECC in the 2017-18 season.
