CINCINNATI, Ohio- Anderson picked up their first win of the season with a 29-22 victory over Clinton Massie on Saturday morning. A weather delay pushed the game back from Friday night to the following morning. The Raptors took a 14-7 lead into halftime. The Falcons tied the game at 14 in the third quarter with a touchdown run by Carson Vanhoose. Anderson regained the lead with a 42-yard touchdown pass from Griffin Scalf to Evan Upchurch. On the first play in the fourth quarter, Vanhoose had another touchdown run from two yards out on fourth and goal. Clinton Massie was successful on their two-point conversion attempt and led 22-21. Scalf would score on a 1-yard quarterback keeper just a few minutes later. Anderson was successful on their two-point conversion attempt and ultimately won 29-22.
Griffin Scalf had 260 passing yards and 60 rushing yards. He had a passing touchdown, as well as two rushing touchdowns. Evan Upchurch had a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown. He had 78 receiving yards and 39 rushing yards. Joey Faulkner had nine receptions for 107 yards.
Carson Vanhoose had 16 rushes for 108 yards and two touchdowns for the Falcons. Colton Trampler had 11 rushes for 75 yards. Carter Frank had the lone reception that went for 39 yards for Clinton Massie.
Anderson had 28 first downs, compared to just 14 by Clinton Massie. The Falcons amassed 268 rushing yards. It was an exciting back-and-forth game with no turnovers and few penalties.
Anderson will be home against Little Miami on Friday at 7 p.m. Clinton Massie will host Bishop Fenwick on Friday at 7 p.m.
