Former Redskin Coaches

CHARLES BROWN

Charles Brown was credited with starting the Athletic Department at Anderson. The Anderson Football stadium is named in his honor.

Brown was the first coach of “11 Man Football”in 1947. He led the Redskins to an undefeated season in 1948.

He compiled a 26-8-3 record for 11 man football, with an overall record of 36-10-4 (includes 8-man)

William  SIMCOX

Coach Simcox took over for the legendary Coach Brown and went 5-9-3 in Two Years at Anderson, Coach Simcox coached from 1951-1952

Donald Eskey

Coach Eskey only coached one season for the Redskins compiling a 5-5 record. Coach Eskey only season was 1953.

Robert Keplinger

Coach Keplinger was 6-19-2 in his Three seasons as coach, coaching from 1955-1957.

JOE MILLER

Coach Miller compiled a 57-46 record from 1958-1968, including the 1961 Hamilton County League Champs.

Bill Harris

Coach Harris only coached the Redskins for one season going 3-6-1

Carl Seymour

Carl Seymour coached the Redskins from 1970-1974 going 19-29-2. Coach Seymour lead the Redskins to the 1973 league championship.

Mike Burns

Coach Burns had a tough task as midway through the 1974 season he took over for Coach Seymour who had a heart attack. Coach Burns finished the rest of that season and the 1975 season. Coach Burns finished with a 2-7 record in his only season as “Head Coach”

Robert Goodridge

Coach Goodridge coached Redskins from 1976-1978 going 2-28.

John Stowe

John Stowe coached the Redskins from 1979-1987 going 16-52.

Vince Suriano

Vince Suriano coached from 1987-2006 and is the all time leader in wins at AHS going 147-61. Led Anderson to three undefeated regular seasons. His teams were crowned conference 12 of his 20 years. His teams went to the state playoffs 7 times. Maintained “top ten” in the city 15 of his 20 years. Vince was also named Conference “Coach of the Year” eight times.

Jeff Giesting

Jeff Giesting coached Redskins from 2007-2015 going 58-44. Coach Giesting took over for Coach Suriano and did not miss a beat as his team won the 2007 State championship and also was State Runner Up in 2008.

Evan Dreyer

Evan Dreyer took over for Jeff Giesting and has made the playoffs in his first three seasons. Coach Dreyer has a 26-10 record and shared a conference title in 2017.
