CINCINNATI, Ohio– The La Salle Lancers will travel to Anderson High School to take on the Raptors in the Division 2 Region 8 semifinals on Friday night at 7 p.m. The Lancers are undefeated out of the conference so far this season. They boast the GCL leading tackler, Colin Wooldridge (91 tackles). Defensive back Claude Moore sits atop the GCL with four interceptions, while Senior linebacker Rodney Portis has six sacks this season. The Raptors will trot out ECC leading passer, Owen Scalf (3,601 yards). One of the many weapons for Scalf is Junior wide receiver Tysin Weaver, contributing 944 yards and 16 touchdowns on 58 receptions. Brady Kuhn leads Anderson with 92 tackles and seven sacks on the defensive side of the ball.

La Salle is 9-3 overall and 0-3 in the Greater Catholic League. The Lancers are coming off of a 14-7 postseason win against Xenia last Friday night. Sophomore quarterback Garrett Fraley had 116 total yards (69 rushing, 47 passing) and two touchdowns through the air. Senior wide receiver Drew Dipzinski caught both of those touchdowns on his only receptions. Running back David Malone rushed for 65 yards on 10 carries. The Lancer defense came up with four sacks and nine tackles for a loss. Sophomore defensive back Jordan Perez forced a fumble with a recovery. La Salle had 43 rushes to just 9 pass attempts. The rushing attack was clearly working, gaining 186 yards and 4.3 yards a pop. The Lancers have two of the top five leading rushers in the GCL with Avier Carter and David Malone. Carter has 666 rushing yards (seven touchdowns) and is also their leading passer with 1,144 yards (10 touchdowns) through the air. Malone has 540 yards and five touchdowns.

Anderson is 11-0 overall and 9-0 in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference. The Raptors are coming off of a 29-6 postseason win against Withrow last Friday night. Junior quarterback Owen Scalf finished with 402 total yards (294 passing, 108 rushing) and two touchdowns through the air. Running back Jordan Davis had a rushing touchdown. Receivers Tegan Jallick and Tysin Weaver each caught a touchdown. Cooper Kathman had the most receiving yards with 116 on just six receptions. Senior linebacker Brady Kuhn had a monster game with a fumble recovery for a touchdown and a tackle for a safety. Defensive end Landen Edwards had 12 tackles and two of the Raptor’s 6.5 sacks on the night. Junior defensive back Jerod Lindsey came up with two interceptions, while DB Ace Alston had a fumble recovery. The Raptors gained 430 yards of total offense.

Common Opponents: Turpin and Withrow. La Salle beat Turpin 28-27 in their first postseason game a couple weeks ago. Anderson beat Turpin by a score of 58-16 in week seven. The Lancers beat Withrow by a score of 35-26 in week five. The Raptors beat Withrow 29-6 in a playoff game last Friday night.

Recent History: Anderson is 1-2 against La Salle since 2020, all meetings coming in the postseason. La Salle won back-to-back meetings in 2020 and 2021. Anderson got their revenge in a meeting last season, beating the Lancers 28-21.
