WEST CHESTER, Ohio- The Anderson Raptors are Regional Champions for the third season in a row following a 38-7 victory against Trotwood-Madison on Friday night. Owen Scalf had 443 total yards (406 passing, 37 rushing) and five passing touchdowns. Tysin Weaver finished with nine receptions for 138 yards and two of those touchdowns. Cooper Kathman caught an outstanding 15 catches for 107 yards and a touchdown also. Jordan Davis rushed for 48 yards while also catching seven passes for 58 yards. Mark Madden had an interception, while Brady Kuhn, Reid Baker, and James Schnurstein each had a sack on the defensive side of the ball.
Trotwood-Madison got on the board first with a 29-yard touchdown pass from Dallas Shehe to Armani Rogers with 3:17 remaining in the first quarter. Anderson responded very quickly when Owen Scalf found Tysin Weaver for a 42-yard touchdown just a minute of game clock later.
The Raptors took the lead with 6:57 remaining in the half when Weaver once again caught a 26-yard touchdown pass from Scalf. Anderson went into halftime with a 14-7 lead.
The Raptors capitalized on their second half opening drive with a 13-yard touchdown pass from Scalf to Cooper Kathman to extend the lead. Anderson got a stop and Scalf found Tanner Holt for a two-yard touchdown pass on their next possession.
Maddux Snider pushed the lead to 31-7 with a 39-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter. Brayden Moore put the exclamation mark on the game with a nine-yard touchdown reception from Scalf with 6:23 to go.
Dallas Shehe had 204 yards and a touchdown through the air. Running back Terry Harrell had 16 rushes for 73 yards and added 15 receiving yards. Wide receiver Armani Rogers had 11 receptions for 123 yards and the lone touchdown for the Rams. Major Dewberry and Jariah Zigo each had an interception on the defensive side of the ball for Trotwood-Madison.
Anderson doubled Trotwood-Madison in first downs, picking up 28 to just 14. The Raptors had 491 yards of total offense compared to just 261 yards for the Rams. Anderson was able to win in blowout fashion despite turning the ball over three times to just once for Trotwood-Madison. Both teams were efficient on third down with the Rams converting on six of their 15 third down attempts, while the Raptors converted on eight of their 15 third down tries. Anderson was a perfect three-for-three on their fourth down attempts, while Trotwood-Madison couldn’t convert on any of their four fourth down opportunities.
Anderson improves to a perfect 13-0 and are Regional Champions for the third consecutive season. The Raptors advance to the Division two state semi-finals and will take on Big Walnut at the Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus. Trotwood-Madison finishes the season at 9-4 overall and Regional runner-ups.
