CINCINNATI, Ohio- The Anderson Raptors defeated the Winton Woods Warriors by a score of 28-21 on Friday night. Anderson overcame an eight point fourth quarter deficit. The dynamic Raptors offense finished with 416 total yards and had a balanced attack. They had 285 passing yards and 131 rushing yards. The defense also came up big with three sacks and one interception as a team.

 

     Griffin Scalf finished with 285 passing yards and three touchdowns through the air. He also rushed for 73 yards. Brody Foley had two touchdown receptions, with one of them coming under two minutes left in regulation to secure the win. Santos Alvarez also reeled in a touchdown catch. Joey Faulkner had nine receptions for 87 yards, while Evan Upchurch finished with 83 total yards ( 65 receiving, 18 rushing). Upchurch tied the game at 21 with a pass to quarterback Griffin Scalf on a two point conversion attempt midway through the fourth quarter. Defensively, Wyatt Holt led the way with two sacks for the Raptors. Max Hansen came away with an interception.

 

     Tyrek Spikes had two rushing touchdowns for Winton Woods. Tai’je Frazier had a receiving touchdown for the Warriors.

 

     Anderson came away with a big win in front of their home fans to kickoff homecoming weekend. It was the first time Anderson has defeated Winton Woods since 2009. The Raptors finally get revenge on a team that they have struggled with in recent memory. Winton Woods knocked Anderson out of the playoffs in both 2017 and 2018. The Raptors improve to 5-2 and will travel to play Milford on Friday at 7 p.m. Winton Woods falls to 4-3 and will travel to take on Turpin on Friday at 7 p.m.
